This bug still exists in Jaunty, but now adding to interfaces:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
doesn't fix it.
I first tried adding eth0 to my /etc/network/interfaces file and that did
nothing, then I tried messing with the boot order (in /etc/rc5.d I noticed that
mediatomb was K20 and
I have the same problem with the official version (2.5.2) from intrepid

you don't have to delete the whole .purple folder, just the file inside
it blist.xml

I can confirm this bug as well.I'm not sure if it's Kino, Pulseaudio
or my ATI video card causing the problems, but Kino is totally useless.
I did kill the sound loop by killing the pulseaudio process. afterwards
the sudio worked normal again (the pulseaudio process never did restart)
but I
I also notice on my system that Kino performed better using 44.1kHz and
not 48kHzit still crashes a lot, but not as much as before

ok .I got an easy fix for you...I went to the getdeb website and
downloaded the most recent Kino release (v.1.3.2)
http://www.getdeb.net/app/Kino
and installed it and now it works perfectly (I assume there is some bug
in v.1.3.0 that has been fixed upstream and we just need the new
version)
To my knowledge this has never been fixed (it worked in edgy and
before), but I've had to fill in the launcher info in every version of
ubuntu sinceand I just checked Intrepid and it's still the sameI
assume the syncing from debian keeps resetting this..is there no way
to permanently
I had the same problem and after much fooling around I found on my
system it was caused by the evolution integration plugin.how I
solved the problem
1) delete the ~/.purple folder (after backing up the log subfolder to
keep all my old recorded conversations
2) restart pidgin, setting it back
