Thanks for this fixe. I have been hunting down this problem and only
just found this solution. I can add that if you don't want to edit
/etc/init/gssd.conf directly you can always do this:
echo 'exec rpc.gssd -e' | sudo tee /etc/init/gssd.override
Then restart the service and check if it worked.
I just download and installed .903 and .904-0ubuntu1 in order testing in
between.

then i upgraded to .904ubuntu2 and it also worked fine. I think the
display configuration tool is getting confused, but installing a

I can confirm this bug, on a Pentium M 1.5 system.
Being unable to boot the server kernel is not something you would expect.
Research returned that this has to do with PAE and/or VT.

than clicking the intlclock panel applet.
That eventually crashes your panel, and John Doe will not be happy.

Yes, they just solved the bashism with a differente expression.
It's suitable for a sync. Only diff is the maintainer field munging.
