I think the way to reproduce this is: install hardy in the VM, update the
kernel, see if it boots. This is basically what failed for me. Also, be sure to
use virtio for network and disk (as I did).

Currently you can't even compile the old legacy rt2500 driver with
module assistent, it fails with all kinds of errors. I can't get the
rt2x00 cvs to compile either, the developer said I can't compile against
the kernel in Hardy, as there are some new changes in the wireless git
kernel that

near future it will be usable, but not with Gutsy. The legacy drivers

I got them from the normal repositories, I don't use any other repositories.
I finally solved it by completely removing monodevelop and then running:
apt-get install mono
apt-get install mono-develop
I think mono-develop needs something that comes with mono.
