As a workaround for Ubuntu 10.04, it is also possible to fix the mime
type for a single user by creating file
.local/share/mime/packages/kile.xml in the user's home directory.
The correct file can be extracted from the updated package
(kile_2.1.0~svn1112278beta4-2ubuntu1_i386.deb):
$ mkdir temp
$
This bug has never occurred to me on Lucid.

I can confirm that, with the kernel proposed in #68, the bug does not happen
anymore.
Now Fn+F2 works correctly with eeepc 901.
