I made additional test on my T60 using the patched iwlwifi from the git
repository, i wrote in my earlier comment that the speed was back to normal,
but that doesn't last longer or work in a reliable ways, every now and then the
speed will go from normal to around 1mbps without apparent reason,
there was a commit around two days ago in the iwlwifi git that maybe will fix
this problem, see here:

maybe it's related, maybe not, i found it searching a fix for the iwl3945 slow
fix for this problem was committed three days ago in iwlwifi git repository, see

tested it on an Thinkpad T60 and wifi speed seem's to be back to normal.
