This is still an issue. For me, there are two ways the bug appears: 1) Start Firefox. Click on the Bookmarks menu. Instead of opening the menu, the "Bookmark This Page" dialog appears. After closing it and clicking on Bookmarks again, the menu opens normally. It also opens normally if I first

I've been using the script above in comment 7 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/117713/comments/7), but I decided to put an encrypted filesystem on it using the directions here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EncryptedFilesystemsOnRemovableStorage However, the sdparm commands do not wor

[Bug 138256] Re: xserver-xorg-video-intel hangs the system when laptop lid is closed

NO, THIS DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. After uninstalling xscreensaver- gl, the system continues to hang. But I have not experienced any problems when the screensaver is turned off entirely. I am dismayed by the lack of progress on such a mission-critical bug. -- xserver-xorg-video-intel hangs t

[Bug 156289] Re: system freeze on gutsy with compiz-fusion

2007-11-23 Thread Greg Bognar

2007-11-14 Thread Greg Bognar
Update: the problem seems to go away if you turn gnome-screensaver off. So this might be related to bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/144663";>Bug #144663 (the Xorg.0.log.old seem the same), although I did experience the problem without compiz running. -- X crashes when id

I can confirm this with a Dell Inspiron 1420, running Gutsy, except that the computer completely freezes and it has to be turned off with the power button. My Xorg.0.log.old ends with: Error in I830WaitLpRing(), timeout for 2 seconds pgetbl_ctl: 0x7ff80001 pgetbl_err: 0x0 ipeir: 0 iphdr: 7808000b

[Bug 132612] Re: memory leak in evince?

2007-10-18 Thread Greg Bognar
I have just upgraded to Gutsy, and I also experience very high memory usage -- it makes the computer unresponsive after a while. (Gutsy is now released.) This happens even if the pdf files are not large. -- memory leak in evince? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132612 You received this bug noti
