I can use dvb-tools and scan the channels so I know its there and all

Same here, I am running Ubuntu 7.04 and Evolution 2.10.1
I have tried everything, deleting directory, the ld fix and even
starting fresh by deleting everything. It works for a while (random)
then "lost connection" errors start. They get worse and worse until I
delete the account.
