Compiz is the issue here when it is set to normal mode the copy paste
bug in gedit appears.
When we turn on advanced settings the copy and paste bug seems to
disappear in part see below.
We turn it off and it it seems to have gone completely.
The select, copy and click on new location and paste
Right to follow this up... I am getting very similar behavior with this
system setup:
Ubuntu Karmic 9.10
gedit 2.28.0
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 045e:0039 Microsoft Corp. IntelliMouse Optical
To reproduce this behavior you open the text editor as the previous user
says choose an item to copy and cop
