The problem isn't solved for me. I have a touch screen which supports
only two touches so can't say anything about three-and-more-finger
gestures. I can confirm both ginn and touchegg worked fine in Oneiric
but neither ginn nor touchegg work in Precise.

Same problems, Ubuntu 12.04, Gigabyte T1005P netbook with Ideacom IDC
6650 touch screen. Looks like touchegg doesn't work too, so it isn't
probably ginn issue (all worked in 11.10). Any patch or workaround?

Touchpad not detected on Gigabyte T1125N

This bug does affect me too. I've noticed the lid reports ACPI event
when closing like this (as per acpi_listen):
button/lid LID0 0080 000a
where the last number is being incremented each time I close the lead (e.g.
next time it will be 000b etc).

Anyway thank you for your help, at least I have MT stack working now, so
I can try things. I'd be very pleased if somebody can help me with

Thank you Chase, I've got great progress with stock evdev. Gestures now work,
but they do not work very well. I'll try to describe: there are often 'lags'
when I zoom and scroll, e.g. for vertical scrolling in browser the focus goes
up and down several times even when I release fingers. Wrong ge

launched geisview. Here's 4 classes with Ids 0, 1, 2 and 15 and the name
'Drag'. All have field 'touches' = 1 and other fields = 0.

to track touches, so it sends SYN_MT_REPORT events (see

Using modified hid-multitouch driver (patch is coming soon) device is
now reporting multitouch events. But in Ubuntu (any programs) still no
gestures or something. I can draw two lines simultaneously in mtview and
mtdiag though. Attached evtest log contains one-finger move and (after
