time to show me the login prompt.

I wonder if the system packages are compiled in RelWithDbgInfo by
default, so that a stacktrace would be useful in release for fixing bugs
like this. I wonder if there's a way to extend G_DEBUG
I also saw many comments about this via the web, but didn't see any bugs
people could track the situation with.

I checked the iso file. No pb (it is the one I used to install Lucid
notebook on my eeePC).
After displaying Ubuntu with fives dots below, the installation stops and

I tried to install 10.04 beta 2 64 bit as VMware guest under 9.10 64 bit as
host.
I tried two times and each time I was stopped by a login request in CLI mode.
This problem did not happen with alpha 3 and beta 1.
My XP guest is still working under VMware.

Had a lot of problems when updating from 9.10 to 10.04A2, with most of
the packages not upgrading due to broken dependaces. Once fixed the main
ones for Xorg, I managed to boot in via the GUI, where I recived this
error.

I could start the 64 bit Ubuntu on sda1 thanks SuperGrub.
I made some further updating on the 64 version and now everything wirks
properly.
I guess that, when I installed the 64 bit version, and was required to
restart the system, The 64 bit version was expecting to be

I'm now experiencing this problem after installing updates this morning.
I'm booting the old 2.6.20-13-generic, X didn't load at first, had to
change the driver in the xorg.conf back to nv from nvidia in order to
get X to load at all. Everything was working perfectly until this
morning's update.
I recently installed the 7.04 Ubuntu beta, and the restricted driver
manager does not work for me either - get the same message.
