I encountered this issue also. But I see what is happening.
There are two settings screens that allow modification of this behavior
and I would say that is an inconsistency that could be fixed.
Screen Lock (Settings-> Privacy & Security) seems to control both blank
screen delay AND also automatic
I did not get to finish editing comment #77 before it was posted. I
wanted two screen shots attached. it posted after one.
But basically screen lock turns off the backlight.
screen blank does not.

both Remote Desktop Sharing & Remote Control set. Hostname is Laptop

flatpak and/or snap and/or deb packages. (This comes from a similar bug
2041008)
- gedit (the old Gnome editor) as flatpak lacks Guillemets
- gedit (the old Gnome editor) as deb has Guillemets
- Text Editor (the new Gnome edit
As the table in [Wikipedia: Quotation
mark](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quotation_mark) shows, there are a
lot of languages that use Guillemets, and thus could have this annoying

Yes, I used the following commands in the terminal:
sudo apt install broadcom-sta-dkms broadcom-sta-source
sudo apt install firmware-b43-installer
reboot.
After the reboot, the wifi icon appeared immediately and everything
worked as before the update.

I think if we want for "console=tty0" to be used for both live &
installed system, it has to come after "---"

Oracular Oriole ARM64 ISO + install has boot
The arm64 desktop live iso still have "console=tty0" like the server images do.
It appears that accessing console causes boot-loop.
Removing console=tty0 as well as quiet and splash manages to boot my x13s to
desktop.
Note I have an earlier production / commercial X13s sku, and it does
often beha
I attempted a build applying the linked patch, and `germinate` did not
like what was happening. it seemed to download most of the correct files
but something was missing. I've personally never tried `germinate` from
the snapshot archive, so I can't state if it's user error when setting
up the patch
this normally indicates the the kernel does not have support for the
squashfs filesystem. in most Ubuntu kernels, squashfs support is
compiled in. Since this is a pro-only kernel, less easy for me to check.
you can check /proc/filesystems but that "only" shows filesystems in
use:

Ubuntu 24.04: Occasionally screen stays black while booting

Unfortunately the screen stays black before password prompt shows up.
This happens since I've migrated from 22.04 to 24.04.
Even a fresh install shows the same symptoms.
What helps is to detach the HDMI cable, attach it again and the TV shows
the password prompt for luks.

I do confirm this issue persists.
Upgraded from 22.04 to 24.04.1 Sometimes (most of the times) when I

BTW I want to mention the possibility that this bug opens a small
security hole, namely:
When the mouse (cursor) is in an xterm window, and I'm typing (i.e., I
think I am typing) stuff into that window, but ...
the focus has actually landed -- incorrectly -- in some other window,
who knows where.
