Hi Marc
I can't see what you mean.
Firefox is not allowed to put the screen in the
sleep state, it even prohibits me from waking it.
It is a DOS-attack and if I(normal user) am not
able to make the screen wake from its nap then
I am bound to loose data.
I can add my configuration if you need it.
I have the same issue with 10.04 all updates installed.
As soon as I open this page:
http://sandaletliseyahat.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?start-index=8max-results=18
my screen shows that it gets no signal anymore.
The video I was watching was still playing.
I encounter the same bug everytime
I think it is fixed. Otherwise see below:
You can copy my patch above** in
your profile directory. In Ubuntu it
is somewhere down that road:
/home/username/.mozilla/firefox/profilename*/searchplugins/
You have to use ctrl+H to show
hidden files and directories and
you can even copy profiles from

Ubuntu 9.10 10.04 10.10 don't find unformatted usb flash SD-card storage device
I got a similar thing except it happened while I was using a 10.04 live
session.
Something already messed with my sound in firefox but I was able to fix it and
then I tried to open ~150 tabs to find a specific video
on youtube and that blocked every program from opening new windows in gnome.
Might affect me too.
Not sure about the mplayer part but it crashes when I go to this site:
http://www.mathe-online.at/galerie/log/n_EulerscheZahl.html
I have noscript active and when I click on the Java app Firefox closes
unexpectedly.
Dunno if it works with scripts turned on but I don't know and
I have the same bug but it does it even while I watch videos.

I have a similar problem.
It seems to be triggered by the hibernation on my machine.
After restarting the whole system everything works for a while.
Until I close the lid of my laptop.
YouTube videos stutter.

Sorry I can't do that. I already put another flavor of Ubuntu on my Laptop. I
can crash Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu if you can salvage that. Maybe I reinstall
it later this day that would be extra effort from me for the Ubuntu team.
Besides that I have another bug in my collection. A very annoying
