For me the pauses when inputting text are short (maybe half a second).
During the short freeze, there is no feedback when pressing letters and
nothing appears on the screen. After the freeze, all the selected
letters suddenly appear.

I am running a turtle beach santa cruz sound card cs46xx chipset. I had
the same problems with motorboating noise in ubuntu 9.10 and ubuntu
10.04. With linuxmint 8, based on ubuntu 9.10, the sound is great! No
problems at all! In windows xp the sound is also problem free!

Same here for me. One point to note... Ubuntu One was syncing other
files at the time this happened. Also the file I was trying to publish
was a PDF (not that I would imagine that makes a great deal of

all_generic_ide works and allows the livecd to boot. It seems to take a
long time and still comes up with ata1:cant find device but obviously
goes on to ignore the problem.
If I install from this livecd will i have the same issue with the
installed version or is it just the CD?
