I have removed Ubuntu from this machine, so can't test under Ubuntu. I

I have an nvidia GeForce4 MX 4000 video card, and have installed libgl1
-mesa-dri and libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental,
Following up further, I don't know if this is related to the problem
described above, but since the upgrade, my computer sometimes hangs
indefinitely when booting, and I get repeated instances of the following
messages in the kernel log:

This problem seems to have started for me at the time of upgrade from
11.04 to 11.10. Changing the resolve order in resolv.conf to:
files dns mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] mdns4 wins
fixes the problem.

didn't actually downgrade the packages, but I marked them all manually
and downgraded them.) It worked, and I have the nvidia driver working

Same problem here on fresh 32-bit Karmic installation. Also, sound
often doesn't work or stops working soon after game starts, even when no
other application is using pulseaudio. Although sounds stops working,
foobillard still shows up in pulseaudio in Sound Preferences =

sound back on foobillard and have no problem closing it, so in my case
at least, the problem with closing foobillard seems to be related to

using java webstart, I get no 3-D acceleration. The 3-D object moves

Same problem here on a Dell Latitude CPi with device identified as
Neomagic Corporation NM2200 [MagicGraph 256AV] (rev 20). Looks
