So when I specify the --tmp directory manually such as
--tmp=/var/lib/libvirt/images/tmp the install appears to work wihtout

When using the latest radeon driver it does not flicker, having said
that though, the animations are not quite as existant as graphic update
is so slow it'd be difficult to see when the flickering happens.

After upgrading to Ubuntu 12.10 with a ATI Proprietary drivers installed
whenever I select the "Selection" tool in shutter the entire desktop is
replaced with a solid black color. Cropping tool works and text appears
ok however any selection (after double click) also appears s
This appears to be caused by the Vertex_buffer_output. But I'm not at a
loss on how to report this bug, or if I should report it anywhere else?
Any advice would be greatfully recieved!

flickering appears on the entire screen. Sometimes it stays black.
However after 2 or 3 attempts at unity --replace all the flicking goes
away and does not return until eit
I'm also seeing somethign similar but only on 12.10, I wasnt' sure if it
duplicates this bug since its a different version but its reported at
bug #1070275

When hovering over icons on unity or using an application which does a lot of
re-drawing there is significant flickering and graphic corruption. This only
happens in 12.10 downgrading to 12.04 fixes the issue.
[Work Around]
unity --replace sometimes fixes the
Marking as invalid since it doesn't appear to relate to Xorg. It is
fixed by issuing the command "sudo amdconfig --sync-video=on"

Whenever there is a display redraw (for example a new line appears in
the terminal window) all my monitors give a few black flickers. There is
intermittantly some triangular tearing. This does not happen in Ubuntu
12.04

Also getting the issue on a ATI Card. Very probable a red-herring but
this happened as soon as I forcefully terminated all net connections
(from my router), it closed any open TCP Streams.

Your workaround sorted my problem out.
I added
sh -c "echo 1 > /sys/block/sda/device/queue_depth"
sh -c "echo 1 > /sys/block/sdb/device/queue_depth"
to my /etc/rc.local
Thanks for this, it will tide me over until hardy stable is out.

The .deb file on www.webmin.com now installs fine on gutsy with all
dependencies. Ubuntu and Debian do not officially support it. I still
can't get by without it though. Use is at your own risk.
ps: I have not ever had even one problem on Ubuntu, Debian, SuSE or
Fedora. All my box's here run Ubunt
I can also confirm this bug on 3 of my Ubuntu 7.10 systems running OOo
2.3.0
Are there any work arounds? We use the Places menu to mount SSH shares
and then when we try to edit a file with OOo the password prompt keeps
popping up and we cant get any further than that.

to get my NFS remote share mounted. The network is not up when this
share is being mounted so it fails to mount.

Same here on my Dell XPS m170 (has Gbit NIC, Wireless andBluetooth)
When I boot, the NetworkManagerDispatcher process takes 100% CPU for
anything from 2 to 5 minutes. I have attached tails and outputs from
dmesg, /var/log/syslog and var/log/messages. Network access takes about
30 to 1 min to work

This is still doing the same thing in compiz-fusion on gutsy. Is this
not a higher priority bug? I hope some1 can get it sorted before gutsy
is released. We are getting close to tribe 4 already...

I am getting the same problem in Gutsy - Tribe 2 (all updates done)
Using Compiz-fusion.
Same problem with Feisty with all updates done and Beryl with Emerald
themes is being used.
I can reproduce this problem consistently by using John Leach's
described steps.
