I'm using 8.04 now.Kubuntu. It hangs upon log out. Black screen. Have not had a chance to try some of the work arounds suggested above. Like ctrl-del-backspace --before logout. Or the power manager daemon in the sessions manager as posted by Andrew Lambert. Strangely, I've used Kubuntu
