I'm using an Acer C720P with Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 (with Gnome updated to
3.14 from PPA) and mainstream kernel 3.18 installed, getting this way
touchpad and touchscreen working.

Good point, I have tried now to disable hyper-threading on my eeepc 901,
and this solves the error message... but yes, it seems slower.

The same problem for me, on an Asus eeepc 901, with a fresh install of
Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook edition.
I've checked kernel boot messages using "dmesg", and I've seen a
suggestion to update my BIOS.
I have done the BIOS update, and after that the error messages were
gone, but only during the firsts
