The CPU fan of that laptop is broken, and can't boot due to high CPU temp.
Can't be tested anymore.

Public bug reported:
I am currently using Ubuntu 8.04LTS on Fujitsu lifebook S7110.
There is nothing presents in my /proc/acpi/fan/. Non of the utilities
(lm-sensors, pwmconfig..) help to detect the fan or control it.
The fan keeps idle even when temperature reaches 70 C.
The BIOS driver has been

Bad news, it's still not working.
I just tried another game (just want to test for higher cpu temperature).
As the temperature goes up to 70C, the fan still spins slow.
Also, the /proc/acpi/fan is still empty after these options.
Any idea?
(I know modifying dsdt is a terrible job).
Thanks

Hi, everyone
Thank god finally I found a very solution here.
I am currently using Fujistu S7110 laptop, the cpu fan works very idle.
I have checked /proc/acpi/fan directory, there is nothing under it.
My bios is updated from the fujitsu-siemens to the latest version.
So, now I want to try this cust
Dear all:
First, I must say if my problem suites these discussion or not.
I am using Fujitsu S7110 laptop with intel 3945abg wifi card in it.
It works fine on 7.10 while I switch the hardware button to "on" after logging
into X.
But after upgrading to 8.04 LTS, it comes out some problems.

I just upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 LTS yesterday.
The gdmsetup runs normally yesterday before I disable the indexing.
When I run the gdmetup, it shows no error message, but Sebastien says, it
triggers a trackerd up to search for something (I don't know).
So, if I run the indexing, then gdmsetup runs
