Reporting after a long time, but the s2idle=deep does not really fix anything.
Just made it less frequent if at all. Since then I have upgraded to 20.04 and
the issue is there.
I have essentially given up on using any kind of power management on this
laptop under Ubuntu.

@Norbert
The "deep" mem_sleep approach works for me. I also downgraded to
vanialla 19.10 kernel before trying this. Not sure if it also works with
5.4 kernel. Will try this weekend.
Earlier I was making a mistake in writing "deep" into mem_sleep. Just
sudo echo deep > /sys/power/mem_sleep does
Also tried with 5.3 kernel that shipped with 19.10 and I see only "deep"
in /sys/power/mem_sleep.

Freeze on suspend (Acer SF314-57)

My laptop already has /sys/power/mem_sleep as "deep" and it still hangs when I
suspend. This is on the 5.4 mainline kernel.
Norbert, did you have luck with "deep" with 5.4 or vanilla 19.10 kernel?

I too have an Acer Swift 3 314-57 with Core i5 and an NVMe 512GB disk. I too
see the problem reported here and elsewhere on the net about things going for a
toss when you suspend.
The laptop does not wake up from suspend, the screen stays dark, the keyboard
hangs (does not respond to the key
I would try out the BRCM STA drivers when I get access to the laptop and
report.
But the GPLed BRCM driver should work with this hardware w/o needing
anything special like the STA driver.

No luck with the wifi on this laptop with any linux flavour yet.
http://www.linlap.com/wiki/samsung+305u seems to indicate this is a wifi driver
bug in brcmsmac that does not affect the brcm-wl.
I have no trouble with the wifi in Windows. I am reluctant to open the
laptop.
