For my most recent attempt, I ran "ubiquity -d" in the terminal. It
reported back, "Segmentation fault (core dumped)".

upgrading from 13.04 to 13.10, with encrypted boot filesystem. Appending
ohci_pci to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and invoking update-initramfs
-u resolved my problem. I feel lucky as having the older kernel still

Just got the latest linux-headers-3.8.0-18 update. After a restart Grub
launches, if I choose Ubuntu (its either that or a memory test) I get a
screen of jumbled text and nothing else happens, though the term "kernel
tainted by nvidia" or something to that effect
This "effect" can be turned off. Open gconf-editor then go to apps > metacity >
general > then untick compositor_effects.
Then it goes away.

To clarify, there is no release date for Ubuntu Touch. It is currently
just a developer preview. I appreciate that development has begun and
that the interim releases are for this purpose (and all I have used
since coming to Ubuntu in '07), however the Friends App has replaced
Gwibber at the Beta2

for a UI not even considered for release just yet. This update to
Gwibber should have been held until at least post-raring. Messed up a

The update to 3.2.0-39-generic caused freezups in my Xorg sessions (only
mouse responding, window blackouts, frozen keyboard). I had to downgrade

My bug (Bug #1155327) has been marked a duplicate of this. Like I said
in that, my workaround is choosing the standard Xorg drivers, then Skype
will launch and run fine. Using the Nvidia 304, 310 or 313 drivers will
cause Skype to crash when I try to start it. Is thus the same problem
then?
