Using v.0.3.10-1 from universe, SoundKonverter silently fails to
transcode my FLACs to aac (.m4a) format.
Files are generated with very small (3KiB at most) file size and the
logs shows an ffmpeg error:

The issue was resolved by running grub-install in a rescue console.

to grub-common), the linux module in grub 2 causes an 'unrecognised
symbol' error when I try to boot linux. I know how to chainload windows

Using the Kernel Modesetting in 2.6.30-rc1 and going to Rescue Mode, the
kernel modesetting driver is loaded and the screen display goes blank.
The computer is still working, but the internal LVDS encoder is not

Having upgraded to the 2.6.31-1 kernel and the modesetting Xorg, I need
to use 'nomodeset' because of a glitch in the kernel detection of my
laptop's LVDS-connected screen. But X starts and shows only a blank
screen. I can change to terminals via ctrl-alt-F1.

In Karmic kernels linux-image-2.6.30-5-generic and 2.6.30-6 generic
(AMD64), the touchpad on my laptop doesn't register any clicks. Self-
built kernels running the same Karmic installation don't have this
problem.

I'm experiencing the same with the gnome-panel logout button freezing X.
Changing to VT's restarts the X server, which I've been doing.
I'm using Gutsy up-to-date as of today, with Nautilus 1:2.19.2-0ubuntu2
and Gnome-Panel 1:2.19.2-0ubuntu3.

I have the same problem AMD Turion64 with ATi chipset running... well I
think I've seen errors from it since Dapper. This error comes from the
version in Feisty against a 2.6.20-5 kernel.
