I watched the temp directory during creation: the .inf files weren't
created until after normalization. So it's quite possible that the data
isn't being copied correctly from the project at that point.
Also, after

to the core issue.
'gnome-screensaver-command --poke' sends a SimulateUserActivity
message to the screensaver. Checking gs-monitor.c, we find the
following:

If I read http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gnome-screensaver/trunk/src/gs-
monitor.c?view=log correctly, the FIXME was introduced in rev 1578 on

As a workaround, I did the following (in a root terminal):
cd /usr/bin
mv gnome-screensaver

I believe I've identified the bug. In xl/track.py, a tuple is created
for the cover manager. This tuple prefers the albumartist tag over the
artist tag.
Recently, possibly with the Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty release, the MusicBrainz
Picard tagger stopped appending MUSICBRAINZ_ on some of its tags. For

I'm a recent convert from Amarok. Most of my music is sorted in subdirectories
like artist/album with the cover art stored as album-front.jpg in the album
subdirectory.
Looks like I may have filed a duplicate of this (
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/474175
). However, it looks like all the discussion here focuses on vlc. The
same problem exists with totem--probably for the same reason. Sigh.

Confirming this bug on a fresh Karmic install.
Additional info: This issue only affects mult-part image attachments.
Attachments contained in a single post display as expected. Saving is
not affected: all saved images are complete. Only inline display is
