Hi, I can confirm this bug as well.
Initially the eht0 interface was set up as with DHCP, but I need to have it
statically configured.
When I tail the syslog and try to activate the static configuration, I get the
following in the syslog after a few seconds:

Hi, I have perhaps a variation of this problem.
I have a Dell laptop with a broken monitor, so I use it as a desktop with an
external monitor.
It has an ATI Radeon Mobility card in it. I see this problem since I upgraded
to Gutsy, but also when I run both the Ubuntu as well as Kubuntu live-CDs.

I was running Edgy, and had Firefox, KDE system load and a couple of Konsoles
open during the upgrade.
During the clean-up phase it crashed on me.
To me, it looks similar to bug 59467 -but that bug is filed as a Breezy->Dapper
upgrad
