[Bug 1448164] Re: runit cannot be installed (Unable to connect to Upstart: Failed to connect to socket /com/ubuntu/upstart: Connection refused)

2017-12-23 Thread Krellan
Although not strictly Ubuntu, I can confirm this bug happens on Linux Mint 18.3 "Sylvia", Cinnamon 64-bit. This helped me fix it: sudo apt-get purge runit sudo apt-get purge git-daemon-run sudo apt-get install -f It is not necessary to purge git-all or git packages. Keep the rest, only get rid

[Bug 824998] Re: NM puts up Authentication required by Wireless Network dialog even if previous identical dialog was canceled

2013-05-10 Thread Krellan
pranith: I have the same problem. I connect to a weak access point. When it flakes out, even for a moment, NetworkManager spams that hated dialog box up to the middle of the screen again. The password is correct, it's already prepopulated within the dialog box, but NetworkManager still insists

[Bug 538614] Re: NetworkManager prompts for reconnection (with previously entered password filled in) on resume from suspend

2013-05-10 Thread Krellan
This is the same root cause as other bugs. The problem is that NetworkManager keeps displaying the Authentication required for wireless network dialog box, even though there's nothing wrong with the previous password. Since there is no way on a Wi-Fi network to tell the difference between out of

2013-05-10 Thread Krellan
Steve White: I completely agree with you. I have the same thing happen to me on my Ubuntu system (although I don't use DUN). NetworkManager pops up the dreaded Authentication required for wireless network dialog box incessantly, right in the middle of the screen, stealing the keyboard focus.

[Bug 1174240] Re: Authorization dialog pops up if wifi network disappears

2013-05-10 Thread Krellan
This happens with me, as well. What's worse, sometimes the wireless network will *stay disconnected* until I answer the dialog box! That's really bad, for a PC that is oftentimes left unattended. I can't reproduce this, though. It will only happen at the most frustrating times, usually when

[Bug 984343] [NEW] NetworkManager keeps asking for wireless password again if signal weak

2012-04-17 Thread Krellan
Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS, on a wireless netbook. NetworkManager keeps asking for the password to my wireless connection repeatedly, if the signal gets weak, or interrupted for any reason. The password is unchanged. However, NetworkManager keeps believing that the

[Bug 426016] Re: 'Connect' menu item does nothing

2010-03-28 Thread Krellan
This bug affects me too. I'm running Ubuntu Netbook Remix. The Connect choice, from the cloud icon, does nothing. No user feedback whatsoever. The right-click menu seems to work just fine. This problem only affects the Connect choice, from the left-click menu. My Ubuntu One login is working
