I had this exact issue with Mail Notification plugin turned off however
when I configured the plugin and removed all notification settings
everything worked fine again.

Hmm, that's odd. I've had w64codecs and ubuntu-restricted-extras
installed from the start. I have found, though, that it definitely
depends on which songs i try to transfer. Most songs just transfer (with
or without the a803 error), but there are couple of albums that just
won't get transferred

This happens to me each time I boot. It doesn't seem to actually harm
the functionality of the HPLIP toolbox, but it does get rid of the icon
in the systray. I normally have mine set to not show there anyway, so it

If you install the python-eyed3 and python-gnome2 packages, I believe
this fixes things. This bug affected me as well in Kubuntu Lucid until I
had these packages included. Now it works like a champ.

At least my firefox isn't slow anymore after i disabled IPv6 (see
http://osnovice.blogspot.com/2007/10/slow-internet-connection-in-
ubuntu.html), but this is hardly a real solution. I find that in general
downloads are still as fast, it just takes a (very long) while before
they start.

After I reported my findings on Sep 14, I tried Fedora 11 and installed
it on my T61. Installed the NVidia kmod (kernel version 2.6.30) and had
the temps at
Core1 - min 41C, max 54C
Core2 - min 43C, max 55C
GPU - min 59C, max 67C
Fan - min 2921 rpm, max 3324 rpm
My 2 cents
I had run certain tests with 3 laptops:
1) Thinkpad T61 with NVidia Quadro 140, Intel Centrino Pro 2.2 GHz on T7500, 3
GB 1067 MHz memory
2) Thinkpad T42 with ATI Radeon Mobility 7500, Intel Centrino Mobile 1.6 GHz,
1.25 GB 333 MHz memory
3) Dell Latitude E6400 with NVidia

Compiz is enabled on the remote system and viagre is used to view the

nvidia's drivers than ubuntu's repository work perfectly as well, both
the 180.51 and the 185.18.04 beta. I noticed on Nvidia's website on the
driver update

I wanted to install a LTSP-server with the alternate CD of Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit.
The installer fails with a red screen failed to build ltsp-chroot.

I have done a reinstallation of the system (Ubuntu server amd64 8.04.2).
But I get this problem again after a 20 min of working. I think I have
found the culprit: lm-sensors.

Since upgrading from 8.04 to 8.10, the display server fails to start
when the glx module is enabled using xinerama with two nvidia cards and
three monitors.
