I was reluctant to try this as I don’t want to ruin the service which is working well! An interesting result though. With Three in slot 2 that service works fine (on 2g only). The PhoneCoop card in slot1 does not function (2g and 3g enabled). That is maybe the simplest and most conclusive test.

Looks like I have a solution. Many thanks to Jonas for leading me through it. The default setting for EE was triggered by the SIM. In the UK there are numerous resellers, using the main networks. EE is 'correct' for the carrier but that default has the wrong settings. The default is now successful

To clarify, it turns out that City of Westminster is my GeoIP. That has changed recently. It used to be Midlands. On restart, the phone uses that for NearBy. Expected behaviour would be a. remember last location or b. wait a few minutes for GPS to get a fix before aksing for the GPS data. Weathe
