underlying service/infraestructure. Restarting network-manager service
doesn't restore the VPN menu items.
And while the applet is broken, you can still turn the VPN connections

The issue is not reproducible with the last Maverick kernel image. I
suppose it got fixed with one of the updates in the last couple of
dates. Anyway, just for completeness, I also tested the daily-current
mainline image (2.6.36-999.201009200905), and it worked.

It seems that the apturl protocol-handlers are not added to the default
preferences, so when clicking on an aptURL, epiphany doesn't know how to
handle it (and opens an ugly dialog box asking the user to choose an
application).
Adding the correct handlers seems to correct the problem. I added the

(beagle) was ok. I closed the beagle search results window, and after a couple
of secons, apport popped up.
For the record, I noticed that in Edgy, beagled wakes up and start
