Running 8.10, it is pasting ŸŸ. I tried pausing/resuming my virtual
machine, and things seem to work correctly again.

It seems to have changed slightly, instead of pasting the ŸŸ, it
doesn't paste anything.
Any information I can post that would be helpful? I'm not sure where to
start with info on this.

As mszeredi said, it seems to have been fixed.
Should a new report be opened about having it upgraded to the newer
(1.9) version?
Other than that, I think this particular bug can be closed.

Another thought about the problem -
Previous to the screen being sized completely wrong (in earlier versions

before becoming centered again - this happened right as gdm started up,

I'm seeing one of the above problems; images are just black when i view
them. Everything seems to render for me when embedded in a page, but if
i view image and it's larger than the screen (and gets shrunk down),
the shrunken image is just black. Hovering over it (and seeing the

I'm having a similar issue - my screen dims correctly when it is idle
(and doesn't dim when i am using it), but as soon as it dims, becoming
active again (e.g. moving the mouse, typing, doing ..anything!) doesn't
restore the screen's brightness. I have to manually bring it back up to
the original
I haven't been able to reproduce the first behavior you described (with
the arrows), but the second one definitely happens.

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose
I've been running Windows XP inside of VirtualBox - installed package is

I just had it freeze up sans compiz, as well. I had pidgin, thunderbird,
and exaile! open, none of which were doing anything. I was out of the
room when it froze, so I wasn't doing anything that might have triggered
it. It definitely happens quicker with Compiz enabled, but it froze up
entirely
I disabled the animations plugin on my laptop (mobility x300), and I've
been going for almost a day without any issues. I'll post an update if
it freezes up again, but this is the longest I've gone yet -- until now,
it's been a max of about 15 minutes before a freeze.

I attached gdb and got a backtrace- it didn't seem to crash in gdb, but
i Ctrl+C'ed in gdb after it had frozen up and took a backtrace. Looks
like the last thing it did was move the cursor around (which is what i
was doing when it froze up)
