I have a Dell Latitude E7450 here and can confirm the problem. As soon
as I try to activate both monitors over the docking station I end up in
a kernel panic. When I go back to to 4.4.0-72-generic all works as
expected.

I just installed a fresh copy oneiric amd64 on my Thinkpad X220
i5-2520M. Without the extra kernel parameter my power consumption is
about 16W, w/ the parameter it is about 8W in idle state.

Can confirm this. 2.6.38-11 absolutely fixes the hangs for me. Not sure
about the freezes, as this needs some time. Nevertheless, the fix should

The fix in #18 solves the "micro-hangs" with the Unity launcher and X in
general for me, but the system still freezes after some uptime. It is
completely locked up and only a hard reboot "solves" the freeze. Is

Thinkpad X220. Added the semaphore option to grub renders my system
unusable. Console is no longer high-res and I only see graphics errors

A side node to #8. It makes a difference if I start with IOMMU enabled
in BIOS or not. If IOMMU is enabled, the Nvidia card does not work. If
its disabled, it works with "nopat".

I can confirm that setting "nopat" in GRUB actually solves the problem
for me. Strange enough, the problem with the NVIDIA card (I have a
Geforce GTX 460) only appears when using x86_64 on Ubuntu 10.10. If I
boot 10.10 on same hardware as 32bit installation, everything works
fine.
