Its because its not synced the frequency between the output and input.. In other words, if you play a 96 kHz audio (or 48 kHz audio) via a 44.1 kHz output, it gets faster "trying to squeeze everything in the 44.1 kHz stream".. It could be a problem at your digital input (yamaha), but I dont think

update: I did run the command: "pavucontrol" ..but it didnt start / work.. I managed to fix it by running the following command: "rm -r ~/.config/pulse; pulseaudio -k" Then it did work, I started pulseaudio multiband eq again, but all my personal settings had gone except the default ones
