Right... We only update the models in the background when apps are
installed/uninstalled, not when Zeitgeist updates the set of popular
apps. This is a bug of course.

I need to know what the home dir of that image looks like? If there's a
~/.local/share/recently-used.xbel it means Zeitgeist will index it once

I played a little with 2) just for the heck of it. It's a trivial change
to unity-place-applications. I tried with a web- and a package emblem.
Could maybe work - but I think it requires some fiddling with the
rendering in Unity because the emblem offsets seem hosed on smaller
icons. See fx.the ico
My personal opinion on this matter is that we should have a "Devices" or
"Computer" section at the bottom of the Files and Folders place.

launch stuff by their full explicit path. I can't see what mortal users
would gain from us indexing the full executable paths - what good does
it bring the user that typing "usr" lists all 2100 executables under

For the app logging we rely on GDesktopAppInfo emitting a signal on the
bus which is then picked up by Zeitgeist and logged. I guess it's fair

I was just about to commit the fixed string when I realized we now both
have a section called "Folders" which lists all the folders you used put
on a timeline. We also have the "Folders" group on the files places
homescreen. These two identical names with different meanings can't be
good?

Zeitgeist can not do this currently. There is some talk about solving
issues like these, but the progress is slow.
There are two issues blocking this really:
- It's not currently possible with X11 and friends to track app usage
like this - maybe with help from the WM and bamf one could do this,
