I can confirm this on an up-to-date Gutsy (as of 10/13). I didn't see
this bug and submitted #152443 for the same problem It happens on every
2nd character typed (or deleted), as long as it finds results and the
widget pops up. Otherwise you can continue typing and it never loses
focus.

I can confirm this bug. Changing the view from the default "Preview" to
either "Icons" or "Details" and enabling "View hidden files" at the same
time causes the crash every time. Setting either option (view, hidden
files) independently does not crash it.

Thank you for fixing this. I still had the problem after today's
updates, running version 1.2.8-0ubuntu8 and was manually symlinking the
backends from /usr/lib/cups/backend-available --> /usr/lib/cups/backend.
I took Walter's advice and purged cupsys then reinstalled it, and can
confrim it is fixed
