After upgrading my Acer Aspire One D255E-2659 netbook from Ubuntu 12.10
to Ubuntu 13.04, I have noticed that the wallpaper assign to my desktop
no longer appears. Instead, the wallpaper, grid, and logo from the
LightDM background carries over to my main desktop. It seems

The Gwibber desktop application refuses to open when called even though
gwibber-service is running three instances in the list of processes in
System Monitor. I cannot open the desktop program to read any messages.

I've never noticed high memory use with Gwibber. My problem has been
with the high CPU usage. I have a dual core Atom N270 processor, and
Gwibber has one of the cores running constantly high ranging between 94%
and 107% (I didn't even know the graph could go over 100%). And this is

I have the same situation; however, up until this weekend (January 16,
2011), my drive has been functioning properly. Perhaps there is
something in the last kernel update for Maverick Meerkat that is the
cause of the problem?
I am using an Acer Aspire One AO531h netbook running Ubuntu Netbook
I have the same issue. It seems to apply to all programs that are not
installed through the package manager. This includes programs installed
under WINE
