Things like this tend to take a little time to resolve due to the
release schedules. Keep an eye on the proposed repository for Unity 5.18
to come out. Hopefully by then things will work out :-)

I don't think that these bugs are related at all. Plus, the person
reporting Bug #1052090 is using Fglrx... that driver is known for weird
graphical issues on some setups.
My issue is simply that there's a small delay as UI elements try to
catch up with my cursor.

I've already attempted to restore defaults to make sure that it isn't

I just gave that option a try. Immediately there were *some*
improvements, but not entirely smooth. Text selection doesn't trail
behind as much, and scrolling is a slight bit less jittery. The keyboard
input is still slightly delayed.

1) Install chromium-browser
2) Add it to your launcher
3) Press the Chromium icon in the launcher.

As I said, this is all from a live session and without much modification

results. Now on today's daily build, almost everything is flawless.
Scrolling is almost as smooth as it is on Windows 7, and window movement
is fluid (when sync to vblank is disabled in compiz). However, after a

I just gave Oneiric a try on this PC (I had not used it before). The
performance is pretty much the same, but not *quite* as bad. Window
dragging is smoother on Oneiric, but everything else is just as
slow/choppy/jerky.
I have not tried fglrx on Oneiric or Precise, since I am testing from

Checked alsamixer to see if that was weird at all. Master volume doesn't
go beyond 0 until after the halfway point. After that, the slider makes
the audio very loud with very little movement of the bar. Pressing the
volume keys on my keyboard makes a massive difference in the audio; one

Alpha 1, the performance is very poor. There is obvious window lag when
dragging them, and lots of hiccups when scrolling (smooth scrolling on
