Simple to reproduce:
1) plug in HL-2170W
2) install default printer driver
3) try to print pdf or ps file using Document Viewer
4) Says "Spooling 2%" for many minutes, no print out.
I changed the driver to Brother HL-2060 Foomatic/ljet4 and it prin
Okay, I somehow fixed it... first I deleted (moved) all gstreamer files
I could find on the system, then purged all of the gstreamer packages
using dpkg --force-all --purge and then reinstalled them. That didn't
work right away, but then I found out that it was only that one user who
had a problem
Here's a log of me plugging in the headset, playing an mp3, turning
pulseaudio volume to 100%, then running alsamixer -c 1 and moving volume
from 0% to 100%.

Public bug reported:
I've never had a problem with playing restricted formats in Ubuntu,
until upgrading to Lucid development branch. Not sure what happened,
but now when I click on an mp4 or flv video in nautilus, it opens up
totem and asks whether I would like to search for a suitable codec. I
I think this is the same as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/alsa-driver/+bug/545233, which would mean that, like the problem there
which I am experiencing, the USB headset volume is almost at 0.

usb headset:
Same problem here, same solution (alsamixer), but this has to be
performed every time. I am using a Logitech USB headset, and I can
confirm that before upgrading to Lucid, all was fine.

I'm already using Lucid development branch, and yes, the problem has
long since gone away. Sorry for not saying so earlier, I forgot all
about this bug.

On startup with my Acer Aspire 6930, there is no battery icon in my

Oh, sorry, it's fixed with latest updates... my bad. Either that or I
was just moving the slider the wrong way... could've sworn it wasn't
