Hi Timo,
I am happy to report that https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/llvm-
toolchain-12/1:12.0.0-3ubuntu1~20.04.4 does indeed fix the problem.
Odin's LLVM branch builds against it and passes its test suite.

Thank you, Timo.
I'll test it this weekend and update the bug report with my findings as

We're bitten as well. I've gotten many requests for this here at the
office (we use SFTP+Thunderbird for email, hence this operation is very
often used). For me using Gmail, I have to do the whole .gvfs-dance in
order to find documents on the network. Not nice.

I have such a DVD from *long* ago. I need to get the information out.
Actually, that's not a big problem, because my computer can easily read
it (karmic). My computer at work (also karmic koala) can not read it and
gets those messages.

After the update the computer is now on, and it's working like in the

Well, now I started the computer again; still this error. I see that
there's a new kernel update, maybe it'll fix it.
As I said, it has been working with the older kernels, so jaunty worked
fine before. It's no use changing to karmic yet, these are work
computers, and I need to test and run
Public bug reported:
When starting a Jaunty computer at work, it didn't start, just showing
20% - 30% finished but hanging there. I could switch to another VT. When
switching to F8 and hitting CTRL+ALT+DELETE it started moving again, and
I could then go to VT1 (CTRL+ALT+F1).
From there I had to

Oh, by the way, rather essential: when I open terminals, it doesn't
work!
Some PTY / TTY-problem (I don't really know what that is, but something
to do with terminals ;) )?

I still have this problem. I run Jaunty and can't disconnect now.
I'm transfering files and wanted faster connection, so I used cable. But
it didn't use the cable, so I disabled wireless, to no avail. Impossible
to unmount it now.

I guess this problem will just surface more and more as people replace
the older Ubuntu server with newer systems. So I would look out for this
bug, maybe fix it before you get a ton of broken
