[Bug 132044] VPNC broken after gutsy upgrade

2007-08-12 Thread Oliver Wilson
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vpnc Upgrading from Feisty to Gutsy has broken my Cisco VPN, but I'm not sure how to diagnose it. Under Feisty, I could use either the command line sudo vpnc or use NetworkManager to connect to my company's network, and it worked fine. Apparently

[Bug 124663] Re: No default internet traffic after connecting to VPN

2007-08-12 Thread Oliver Wilson
That is not the default behaviour in the Windows Cisco client, surely? I use the Windows client all the time and my internet routing is unaffected. Are we suggesting that he should disconnect from VPN just to use google? Or that his company should provide web access, and then send it through the

2007-08-12 Thread Oliver Wilson
I just had this confirmed by my colleague; she tried to install Feisty but found it ridiculous that we can't create partitions over 200gb in our installer. I'm tempted to agree - is anyone fixing this? -- prepare partition can't create 200Gb paritions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107787 You

[Bug 67486] SOLUTION on my system

2006-11-14 Thread Oliver Wilson
After a failed attempt to load kaffeine, kill it using DCOP. If unfamiliar with this, then call kdcop for a nice GUI, find Kaffeine in the app list, find quit function and call it. On my system, next time you call kaffeine you'll be OK. -- kaffeine don't start https://launchpad.net/bugs/67486

2006-11-14 Thread Oliver Wilson
I have an identical problem. Seems it only affects one user at a time, so it can be resolved on my system by deleting ~/.kde , but that's a ridiculous solution. I can't quite work out how to reproduce the bug - it manifests after some multiuser operation eg. adding new user, 2 users use X

Having seen the ridiculous problems the system:/ and media:/ protocols have caused in MDV SuSE due to immature implementations, I would suggest we stay as far away as possible until upstream sorts this out. Until every app in KDE is properly redesigned to use this unnecessary abstraction layer,
