I don't think the debate is about whether Ubuntu can ship libdvdcss2.
The debate is that even after user installs libdvdcss2, DVD playing
works one way (put DVD in drive, totem starts playing it) and not the

and not 'lsusb'. Also check if you have a hardware switch to turn off

IMHO, this bug is not about 'not able to play DVD with gstreamer backend'. It
is about not being able to play it one particular way (File-Play Disc) while
it plays properly in another way (automatic start of totem when DVD is
inserted).

The bugs is about 'Memory Stick Pro' and not 'SD card'. 'Memory Stick Pro' is
not recognized even with tifm_sd loaded manually. Also it was logged against
Edgy kernel.
Feel free to reject the bug if there is no support in kernel or there is no
plan for backport if the supports exists

Confirming on latest edgy. Tested with MPEG-1 (ripped from VCD) and some
DivX videos. The problem doesn't appear for same VLC version on Windows.
Also Totem plays videos fine.

Following are the steps I did.
1. Start RM. It shows ATI accelerated graphics driver.
2. I click on 'Enable'. A confirmation dialog is presented.
3. After I confirm, it starts downloading the package.
4. I cancel the download
5. I check xorg.conf and it is already modified to use binary driver.
Rejecting as not a bug.

install binary drivers and enable them in xorg.conf. I was just curious as to
