I have had my wifi adaptor crash a few times. Basically the wifi icon
disappears and I'm off the network. I can't get it back until I reboot
the laptop. However, it seems that there are issues reported in dmesg
which indicate there are other firmware related issues.
I'm on Ub
The only thing I can think of adding to this was that at the same time,
Evolution was displaying and email which then went "blank" and I had to
restart it (actually the computer.)

We use a proxy in the company. We don't provide internal name resolution
of external ip addresses except through the proxy. Therefore I cannot
use Dictionary inside the corporate network as I get an error - "Lookup
failed for host 'dict.org': Unknown error". There are no pref
