Actually, until two days ago I had no idea Ubuntu provided Eagle. I had gone to Eagle's download page: http://www.cadsoftusa.com/download- eagle/?language=en, and there's a binary available, but no mention of a .deb file or a package in Ubuntu. The binary just worked on 10.04 but not 12.04,
