If I tried to add some programs with the KDE Menu Editor, for example
kcontrol, when I tried save or close the application, I got this error:
Menu changes could not be saved because of the following problem:
Could not write to /home/x/.config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu
I reported this in alsa-dev and their bugtrack-system some time ago, with
little response.
Maybe someone from ubuntu likes to dig into this some more? I've no idea why it
still doesn't work...

With applesmc loaded, you'll get access to the light sensors and kb led
via sysfs. pommed is said to be able to adjust these automatically. The
keyboard shortcuts work in console and X, as long as you don't use the

To clarify: There is currently no way to adjust display brightness in
linux.
A low-level interface needs to be written that adjusts the right bits in
the hardware.
Pommed works with macbook rev3, but as long as such an interface does

I have the same problem. When I activate or desactivate a repository
(always with backports for example), adept updates and then crashes with

In Gusty tribe 3 the sound worked fine (except internal microphone).
Now, with tribe 5 (after new install) doesn't work, no sound.

To clarify: There is currently no way to adjust display brightness in
linux.

With applesmc loaded, you'll get access to the light sensors and kb led
via sysfs. pommed is said to be able to adjust these automatically. The
keyboard shortcuts work in console and X, as long as you don't use the
evdev driver for X. D
