inflate() is not part of dpkg but of zlib. It might be the that the
input data was corrupted but zlib should not segfault and instead
provide a proper error. This is rather old though and I'm not sure
anyone can find something useful in here.
Requesting a newer retrace in case anyone else
A segfault in fork() can't really be the fault of dpkg... it's unlikely
that we ever be able to diagnose the root cause of this problem so I'm
marking it as incomplete so that the bug expires by itself if nobody can
provide any explanation.

should be able to install/upgrades packages again.
I think this is a direct consequence of your hardware problems and not

Joao, this is bad advice. The proper way to download the dropbox binary
is to execute sudo dropbox update. And this should be automatically
done by the post-installation script of the package. So sudo dpkg
--configure -a should do it too... because if it's not yet downloaded,
it means the package
It's not a bug of the package if the network connection is flaky,
download of dropbox stalls and then user kills the process. :-)
