Actually, for me, it never goes away unless I click on the screen. I
find this to be a serious fly in the icecream situation. It is also a
systemic bug that will not be resolved via black listing or white
listing.

quicklists can easily be added to desktop files. For example, Firefox

Omer, hi. I'm not seeing this crash anymore, and I've uploaded some
other compiz bugs since then (properly). I'll go ahead and close out
this bug so it doesn't get in your way, anymore. Thanks a lot for

I *worked around* the bug in that manner, but I don't think we should
call it a fix. I also had to disconnect from the expose event to keep
the the users input from being continually written over.

could you not simply add set_text to the vbox, check if the overlay
has been created. If it has, just set the text in the input field, and
if it hasn't, store the value and don't apply it until the overlay has
been created, for example by connecting to the expose event?
