The bug is in the mate-settings-daemon. Although it is running, it very
often fails to display the indicator. The only workaround for me right
now is to kill it, which causes it to reload itself. Repeat until the
keyboard indicator is displayed.

When transferring files to a remote location, e.g. an FTP host, symlinks
are copied as symlinks - instead of the local file they are pointing to.

I started getting the very same crash from the first day I installed
15.10. It occurs 4-5 times a day - from what I can tell triggered by any
application using gstreamer for audio playback.
Let me know if you need any additional info.

This issue has followed me to 13.10. Finally, I managed to supress it
(not fix it) by adding GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="noapic" to /etc/default/grub.
I hope this helps somebody.
