I've investigated the bug a little further.
Since the url is opened with https protocol it tries automatically to use the
https_proxy environment variable which is not set on my system, only http_proxy.
I've set the https_proxy variable and tried to run ubuntu-bug -p apport again

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: desktop-effects
I already have nvidia-glx-legacy installed and when I open desktop-effects it
tells me to enable the nvidia driver.
I choose to enable the driver and it proceeds to download the nvidia-glx
package which would obviously screw my desktop.
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: apport
My network is behind a proxy.
I ran ubuntu-bug -p desktop-effects and I received a no route to host error.
The app should try to use the gnome proxy or at least fail notifying the user
that he/she might be behind a proxy.

For reading the gnome enviroment proxy we could read /system/http_proxy
If use_http_proxy is checked, use host:port fields for the proxy.

Hi,
Today I had problems after running the upgrade of the system.
After running apt-get upgrade, I received the following output:

This is a problem that seems to appear on latest vmware-player ubuntu
package. I use it every day and everytime I suspend my laptop I have to
close vmware-player and do:
$ sudo /etc/ini.t/vmware-player restart
Only then I can start vmware-player again and have working network on
it.

I had a problem with these characteristics today and the solution was to
open /etc/cups/printers.conf and rename the printer from LaserJet-1300
to HP-1300 . I found out that the most updated version of Dapper samba
packages do not share if the printer is named LaserJet-* . Don't know
why it does

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code
Unfortunately, I found so many errors during the upgrade that it was
unable to finish and left my Dapper with some Edgy packages, creating
some incompatibility that I needed or to reinstall Dapper or make a
clean install of Edgy.
I did a clean install of Edgy in order to have some problems fixed.

printing self.rtname in pycentral gives:

installed_runtimes is None, so the if statement will be executed:
