The é is back! (also in the list of symbols) Don't understand what
happend. Nobody else seems to have this problem. And nobody seems to be
interested. Strange strange strange. Would have been a case for Georges
Perec... :-)

I have the same problem. Restart doesn't help. The letter é doesn't
even appear in the list of Sonderzeichen (special characters,
symbols?) for Times new roman anymore. When I chose é in another font
and try to mark and change in Times New Roman, it gets È again. I
tried the same as joehill:
