I have the same problem. (Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit) I installed the most
recent batch of updates (including one for compiz) and after the next
reboot my system is effectively dead. After login I get wallpaper only.
Ctrl-Alt-T doesn't get a terminal. Ctrl-Alt-F1 works OK.
I installed ccsm. The unity
I've got Canon CanoScan LIDE 25 scanner that stopped working following
Ubuntu 14.04 upgrade. The scanner is recognized by system (kernel and
sane-find-scanner) and shows up it Simple Scan options dialogue. Yet the
scan action fails with the scanner not powering itself up and not doing
anything.

place for the ladspa plugin. A Debian bug reporter has found that it is looking

Hi,
Audacity 2.0.5 was released in Debian without ffmpeg support because it has not
been fully ported to the libav9 library. Apparently, noone stepped forward to
do the work so it was necessary to do this to allow the libav 9 transition to
complete. See Debian bug #692809.
