Hi, every time I do a dist upgrade I run into this. The update manager
knows how to change the package repositories, but it should also check
that the repositories it needs end up with a suitable priority as seen
in 'apt-cache policy' to allow the upgrade to happen. Otherwis

This new package didn't seem to work for me after a Lucid re-install - I
still needed to put the .desktop file in /usr/share/xsessions - any
debugging tips? I also use ecryptfs ~, if that is important.

I get this on Karmic from time to time on my Dell Inspiron 9400. I also
have nvidia card. The frustrating thing for me is that it sometimes
works, and then I know that I can generally keep suspending and resuming
so long as I don't reboot. I did get a new ureadahead, ufw, libc6-bin

My laptop which was installed as Karmic and only upgraded as updates
comes out intermittently has this issue. It is a Inspiron 9400 with a
nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS. I put some notes on Bug #506719 - summary:
try suspending from a VT (ctrl+alt+f1, login, "sudo pm-suspend"). If it
suspends succes

things slightly better, but then I get a segmentation fault.
Using this command, I get much more stable behaviour:

I just saw another amd64 machine show the same problem - network manager
just not wanting to control interfaces, even hard-wired. Again I had to
revert to /etc/network/interfaces. The network manager daemon was
running. I'm nominating this for release, because it seems serious to
me.

Hi, this might not be a bug in pulseaudio but I wasn't sure of the right
package for this.
Basically each of the volume controls in gnome seem to control the wrong
mixer channel.

I think it's a radeon-specific bug. The atyfb (iirc, not near my laptop
atm) driver doesn't work with a lot of radeon cards. My old Dell
Inspiron 8000 did the same thing with that driver, too.
The reason I logged it against this was my suspicion that the Ubuntu-

I think what happened was the sub-menu was grayed out for me, and it
wasn't completely obvious why.
It did feel like the kind of bug that you'd have to be nuking a Windows
partition from orbit at the time to truly appreciate. The machine is

The "splash" kernel command line option was causing this Toshiba M40X
(lspci output attached) to "fade to white". ie, the laptop display
stops refreshing the pixels, and all the transistors slowly leak current
until the screen is white.

Yeah, a bit of a sticky one this one. The installer asked for 2GB
minimum /. So, I set it to 2048 and parted rounded it down to 2047.
Then the installer barfed later.
I think it's mildly wrong that the installer should ask for units of Gb
and then the partitioner uses Mb.

didn't think I hit 100% full, rather the N% ext3 reserved space limit,

I had the same problem - missing files in that lib32stdc++6 package.
This really can't be a coincidence; some postinst/preinst somewhere is
nuking the files.
The workaround I used was the same as above;
dpkg --remove lib32stdc++6
apt-get install lib32stdc++6
And now OOo starts! Yay! :)
