up RapidSVN for several minutes while it fetches and processes the
entire log history of a repo. This is a very unpleasant and interrupting
experience when I really only want to see the last few changes.

I've had this issue since I upgraded to Xubuntu 14.04. I followed Jon's
instructions and cannot reproduce this issue anymore.

I have not. That should be automated. Having to register and re-enter
the issue details on yet another bug tracker is more of a hassle than
I'm willing to put up with. I have switched to PCmanFM which is much
more stable and also quicker at loading folders with many files. The

When I go back to a parent dir with backspace thunar will sometimes lock up.

I did some more testing after the above comment by benbraunster.
If my laptop suspends when I close the lid then I can view my desktop after
unlocking. This is what 'xubuntu-default-settings 14.04.5' fixed for me.
If I have the laptop set to only lock when I close the lid then I have a black
With a new user and the updated package (14.04.5) applied I have to say
this is not fixed. It is fixed for my main user after this update but
not new users. I'm confused as to why since you say the update should
only affects new users.

When starting Software Updates through the menu in Lubuntu I am not
asked for my password. I am unable to make any changes because the
program is not run as root.
Running 'sudo software-properties-gtk' from the terminal allows me to
