My friend uses Fallback mode and auto log-in. after installing updates
yesterday, it did error as described. I tried reinstalling from a
newer daily update and still, the problem remained. The desktop would
be there but there would be no upper control menu-bar. Also, if you hit
CTRL-ALT-DEL

It seems to happen on the upgrades. I did two fresh installs to
friend's computers and I don't believ they had this issue.

installer crashes during install for both dvd and flash installs

crashed towards the tail end of the install. It did that for both the
flash install and from a DVD install. The only way I could get it to
install was to install a fresh copy of 11.10 and upgrade from
forgot to mention that I was running Alpha 2 of Precise Pangolin when I
got my error.

software-center crashed with TypeError in
I tried to install a .deb for gpg's GPA program and there was a flicker
like software-center was going to come up but it closed right straight
away. I tried with a couple other .deb files and got the same results.
